The Top 10 Facets Of Success

The following is taken from Barry J Farber and is from “Diamond in the Rough”,  a 6-CD set that is available through Nightingale-Conant.

Farber's recipe for success is simple: In order to be successful you need to have a “Yes, I will” attitude. It is about putting everything else aside so that you can achieve your goal. So what if you have fears, just about everyone does. The difference between success and failure is moving beyond those fears, after all Farber says that "FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real". In other words, your fear is an illusion of your mind. Just deal with it and get on with your life.
Furthermore, Farber says that “Leaders are readers”. This is definitely true. All the top leaders are constantly reading, especially in the business world. Constructive reading is acquiring knowledge, and we all know that knowledge is power. So here are Farber's Top 10 Facets of Success:
  1. Have a positive attitude - The mind leads the way in everything. You control your thoughts and emotions. A positive attitude is essential for success.
  2. Create your own opportunities - Action is required on your behalf to make things happen. This is a universal law that you cannot ignore.
  3. Turn fear into fuel for success - It has been wisely said that a man's greatest achievement is one step beyond his greatest challenge. After all, diamonds are only made under extreme pressure.
  4. Feel passion for what you do - If your heart is not in it, then your mind is not in it too. When your heart and mind work together miracles happen.
  5. Take action - Once you have created your opportunities keep the momentum going. The most energy spent is always in getting the momentum going. Once you have momentum less energy is required to keep it going.
  6. Mine your brain power - You have all the resources you need to achieve what you want.
  7. Learn how to learn - Knowing how to do something makes it much easier to accomplish. It is worth the effort and will save a lot of time in the long run.
  8. Set compelling goals - if it is not challenging your heart most probably won't be in it. Make it worthwhile.
  9. Surround yourself with wise advisors - They will tell you what you need to know, as opposed to what you want to hear.
  10. Know the value of serving others - By going out of your way to help others, others will respect you, reciprocate with kindness, and be your greatest promoters.
Nobody has ever said that success is easy. It requires effort on your behalf, which requires thinking the right things and feeling the right things in order for it to be successful. Remember, there is no such thing as failure, there is only feedback. Avoid the 'failure mindset loop'. Instil in yourself the 'success mindset loop' instead, and learn from those occasions where your ventures have not turned out as planned. Successful people still 'fail' - the difference is they learn from those mistakes and make the effort to put it right. If you need proof of this, just look to the top sports men and women. Their statistics show that they miss more often than hit their target. Success is getting up one more time than being knocked down.

This is not acceptable

It is sad that we complain about the price of food yet condone the methods used to bring cheap food to the table. There is a tragic price to be paid for that cheap food on your table. We have blood on our hands and ignorance is not an option in the Information Age.

In case you didn't know it, animals are reared in the most brutal conditions imaginable. From birth to death their lives are miserable. This is the price they pay so that we eat inferior quality food.

Knowledge is power. Watch this video and be moved to action - even if it is changing the food you eat...

1 Minute Cancer Cure

Cancer is a social problem. It is the second biggest killer after heart disease. Billions of government money is poured into pharmaceutical companies in order to combat it. And what have the pharmaceuticals come up with? After fifty years of research, they keep saying that the cure is 'just around the corner'.
The truth is the cure has been with us all along. The pharmaceuticals hide the truth because they cannot make money from the truth. The truth cannot be patented or profited from. What can we draw from this? We can conclude that pharmaceuticals place profit over people. How can I be so certain? Just look at how they run their business. They spend more on marketing than on research. They go into every corner of this planet and 'extract' indigenous knowledge of healing plants. Then they analyse these plants, find their healing chemical compounds, patent it, and make billions in the process. Are the indigenous people ever compensated for their knowledge and skill? No. Furthermore, governments pour billions into the pharmaceutical coffers and what do the public get in return? Nothing, we still have to pay exorbitant prices for our prescription drugs. The poor of this planet - all 99% of them - pay with their lives.
Pharmaceuticals are not compassionate or charitable. They even go to extreme lengths to hide the truth. On numerous occasions, they have withheld vital information in the course of their research that would be beneficial to humanity. They withheld such information because they could neither patent nor profit from such information, yet the information could cure peoples' afflictions.
As you can guess, I am not a fan of pharmaceuticals. Don't get me wrong, there are many drugs out there that can and do save lives. They are vital and are needed. It is the business model that offends me so much. So when something comes along that is beneficial to the public I like to let people know about, especially when it is cheap and simple to implement. Such an example is the 1 Minute Cancer Cure  which has circled the globe. Click on the link to find out more. Spread the word.

BUSINESS RIGHTS

This week’s theme is your rights in business. Many people assume they know their rights. They believe that because they have a moral code which they live by automatically applies to the business world. Unfortunately, the world of business is full of shadows with sinister  people lurking around many corners. The road to riches is not very well lit!
I am, by no means, a legal professional, neither do I offer legal advice. However, I do suggest you take legal advice on matters before proceeding into new ventures. It is a sad truth that the more laws there are, the more criminals there are too. And also more opportunities for people to break the law. The legal system upholds the letter of the law instead of  the spirit of the law. Personally, it would be easier to adjudicate on the spirit of the law and get the right conviction for the right reason to the right person. However, this is not the reality.
The reality is we are left in the dark to explore the minefield that is the legal system. Furthermore, ignorance of the law is not an excuse for transgression of any law. The law is deliberately kept mysterious and known only to a few, upheld by a few and made by a few. So it is no surprise that many people find themselves on the wrong sided of the law in business. From employment to international trade, every contract is open to manipulation. It is a mistake to think the  other party has the same intentions as you. The modern world is increasingly driven by a “what’s in it for me?” attitude, and many will seek to use you in order to get it. A popular phrase “it’s nothing personal, it’s only business” will ring in many people’s ears.
Too many adopt a win-lose business model. In this model the legal vultures are always at the ready too swoop down and pick over the bones of the loser. I am of the opinion that all business should be win-win. If both parties are not getting a benefit from the transaction then it should be abandoned. And the gain does not have to be financial either. The beauty of business  is that more than money is involved. The win-lose model goes for maximum profit from the minimum price. It’s about satisfying the shareholders as opposed to the stakeholders. It’s the “what’s in it for me?” syndrome. The win-win model takes the view “how can we all benefit?” it’s an outward=looking model that has the benefit of keeping the legal vultures at bay.
The win-lose model is one where you have to know your rights. It’s a minefield, and sooner or later you will get caught out. The win-win model is la relaxing barbecue with friends. Business should be fun, it should be enjoyed by all involved. It should be honest. It  should be free of litigation and counter-litigation. And it can be when the right approach is adopted from the outset.
